CROSS  CANADIAN  RAGWEED

The Boys in the Band have been playing together since kindergarten in
their hometown of Yukon, Oklahoma. Eventually they decided on music
as their favorite game and the rest is history.
Members of the band include: Grady Cross, Cody Canada, Randy Ragsdale
and Jeremy Plato. Randy’s dad, Johnny Ragsdale was a strong influence,
having played guitar with Bob Wills, and later some with Reba McEntire.

The name of the band: Cross Canadian Ragweed is a combination of the last names of the band members.

The band later moved from the Yukon area to Stillwater, Oklahoma and were influenced by Mike McClure, singer songwriter Jimmy LaFave,
Steve Earle, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Pete Anderson among other artists. Cross Canadian Ragweed has a country sound with more rock and roll.

After building a hugh concert following in Texas & Oklahoma, the band
signed a recording contract in 2003. They have several albums to their
credit. Cross Canadian Ragweed has played the Houston Livestock Show
and Rodeo and the band is scheduled to perform Saturday, July 18, 2009
at Sam Houston Race Park’s Showgrounds. Concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

Cross Canadian Ragweed is the featured Band of the Week, July 17, 2009
