John McVey has been a blues musician for over 20 years, having performed
with many legendary musicians. Larry Davis, Lavelle White, Albert King,
Fenton Robinson, the Great Johnnie Johnson, Albert Johnson, Junior Wells,
Buddy Guy and other blues artists. He has performed in clubs and venues from Kansas City to Little Rock; and has worked with a number of harmonica-based blues bands. He traveled to Nickel, Russia to perform in the legendary Harmonica Rumble in the early 1990s.
John McVey formed The Stumble Band in Austin when he returned from
Russia. Then he joined the Lavelle White Band as guitarist and band leader.
The band toured the major festival circuit for several years, appearing on
several shows with Luther Allison, John Lee Hooker and more. The band
also had a very profitable television spot for Miller Genuine Draft Light
Beer and a tour of Italy.
In 1999, John decided to get off the road tour and re-form the Stumble.
Other band members include Erin Jaimes on bass & vocals. Salvatore
LaRocca on harmonica and Matt Sessions on drums. Erin Jaimes &
The Stumble made her first CD in 2003, dedicated to her father and
titled: You Had To Go. The Band has its share of dedicated fans.
