Music--all kinds of music-- has been a part of Pat’s life from his beginning.
He grew up in Waco, Texas in a blended family of nine children. Pat was
influenced by the 80’s music, Motown music and classical, an incredible
range of music. Country music and some great Texas writers, didn’t
really connect with Pat until later. After high school, he was turned on
to Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and
Johnny Cash. And Pat fell in love with country music.
Pat Green was able to find an audience for his songs, and he self-released
albums beginning in 1955 with Dance Hall Dreamer. He met and married
in Austin and stayed to perform in Texas. Eventually, Pat found a limit to
such independence. He toured to promote his music and signed his first
big record deal. Wave On Wave was a monster hit, then Nashville took
notice. Pat is walking in footsteps of his own making, with respect for
the past and his eyes very much on the future.
We wish this talented singer/songwriter much success and welcome
Pat Green to
