Lemmy Kilmister lives his life and plays his music hard and fast, and
Motorhead Band still keeps on rockin' and rolling. Now entering a
fourth decade as frontman of the band, Lemmy says he has never been
able to picture himself as doing anything else.
Lemmy has polluted his body with drinks and drugs for much of the past
four decades, yet there is a purity to his band Motorhead. The band was
started in 1975, and is often tagged as metal; since it is loud, fast and as
persistent as a jackhammer. The tempos will cause whiplash and Lemmy's
scorched voice will through it all. He says the band's horned emblem has
aged better than he. However, at age 63, Lemmy is a rock star, drawing
respect and admiration of generations of musicians. He is also the subject
of a documentary due next year.
Lemmy Kilmister and the band Motorhead have toured all over the world.
There are a few places in the world that they haven't played: Africa, China,
India, but there's still time. They played in Houston recently at Warehouse
Live, 813 St. Emanuel.
