The boys in the band always had a serious case of hero worship when it came to Buck Owens & The Buckeroos Band and their style of country music. Under the influence of Buck, the honky-tonkin’ boys from Austin released their eighth album with a rollicking and heartfelt tribute to the timeless music of Buck Owens. As the band evolved over the years, The Derailers perfected their patented Beatles-meets-Bakersfield sound.
The band met their hero in 1995, performing at a Buck Owens birthday
celebration in Austin. He invited the band to play at his club in Bakersfield.
They became the house band at his club, the Crystal Palace. It was clear that
Buck gave the group his genuine seal of approval. He proudly cheered for the
Derailers Band in front of family & friends.
The Derailers signed with Palo Duro Records and released their critically
acclaimed Soldiers of Love in 2006. The band is fronted by Brian Hofeldtt,
and backed by the timeless energy of the Derailers lineup: pedal steel guitarist: Chris Schlotzhauer, and keyboardist: Sweet Basil McJagger,
Ed Adkins, on acoustic bass and Scott Matthews on drums & percussion.
The Derailers Band is one of the coolest bands around with the coolest
sound of rockabilly music.
