Blaggards Band is a Houston band, having formed here in July 2004
Their music is known as Stout Irish Rock, traditional Irish music
Mixed with Rock n’ Roll. Influences include: Johnny Cash, Elvis
Presley, Black Sabbath and others. Blaggards are frequently compared
To Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys and the Pogues.

Members of the band include originals: Patrick Devlin and Chad Smalley.
Newcomers are Chris Buckley and Michael McAloon. Fronted by
Patrick Devlin, singer & guitarist, who grew up in Dublin, Ireland, and who
Moved to Houston while in his early 20’s. Drummer Michael McAloon, a
First generation Scot-American won all kinds of medals for his Irish step-
Dancing, started playing drums at age 13. Each member is a talented
Performer. And yes, they do have fiddle in the band: Chris Buckley does
That very well indeed, while Chad Smalley does a mean bass.

Blaggards have toured the East Coast, also having performed throughout
The Southern states. The band has opened for such notables as: Brave
Combo, David Allan Coe, Gaelic Storm, Brother, Cowboy Mouth,
James McMurtry, and Royal Crown Revue. Blaggards played SXSW in
2008 and will be touring Europe in 2009.
